Make A Difference

Nathan Derenski

The focus this week is on understanding the teachings of Jesus through parables—specifically the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14–30. The parable emphasizes stewardship, showing that God has entrusted each of us with valuable resources—time, abilities, relationships, and opportunities—according to our capacity. These gifts are not ours to own but to manage faithfully for God's purposes. Faithfulness is measured not by comparison to others, but by how well we steward what we’ve been given. Jesus teaches that consistent, quiet obedience is more important than occasional moments of greatness, and that fear and procrastination can keep us from fulfilling our purpose. Ultimately, faithfulness leads to fruitfulness, and we will be held accountable for how we use what God has entrusted to us. The goal is not simply to avoid failure, but to courageously invest in what matters for the Kingdom of God.
