Been There - When They Take You For Granted

This message speaks to anyone who feels unseen, unappreciated, or taken for granted, reminding them that even Jesus experienced ingratitude, as seen in the story of the ten lepers in Luke 17. We often give, serve, and love with pure motives, yet still long for someone to notice—and when they don’t, it can be discouraging. But Scripture shows us three truths: how others make you feel is not who you are, those you serve the most often appreciate you the least, and what people don’t see is often what matters most to God. From Jesus being praised one moment and rejected the next, to Joseph being forgotten by the cupbearer he helped, the Bible is full of reminders that human recognition is inconsistent—but God’s recognition is constant. He sees every unseen act of service, every sacrifice, every prayer, and He promises not to forget the love we show. Just as one healed leper returned to give thanks, we’re encouraged to “be the one”—the one who notices, the one who is grateful, and the one who trusts that the God who sees is always watching and smiling.
